Keep Calm and Collect Photos (Dividends)

Image
STE  and Mrs like to take photos during our morning/evening walk, of course, other than catching Pokemon ..hahaha  :D Photography allows you to create images of events, times, and places, it also records what happened and allows you to share them with friends and family, either in digital format or more permanently with prints or photo books. By being able to capture a special moment in time, you carry the memory of that event forward with you, allowing you to share it and remember it with those that were there.

Just For Fun & Photos Sharing

Recently, after reducing my holding in Capital Commercial REIT (here ) and Accordia Golf TR, other than deploying my fund to short term bonds  and building up my war chest, I am also thinking of adding new counters which would generate some passive income to replace the loss of income from these two counters which used to be the main holding in my portfolio. While doing the due diligent for one of the target stock, I came across this paragraph in one of the analyst reports…

What’s Next After Achieving Financial Freedom?

Image
These 2 blog post from my friend about life after achieving FF prompted me to “ kaypoh” and write something about my life after FI since 3 years ago… this is the question where many “ F.I.R.E to be” should ponder along the journey of achieving FI. Financial independence is not about being rich but is the experience of having enough….and the most important question people often overlook is “ What's Next when you have achieved Financial Independence?”.

STE Smart Beta Update and Photos Sharing

Image
image credit to trackinsight.com It has been quite sometimes since my last update of STE Smart Beta Index which was created on 28 Aug 2016 ( here ) and Yah !! Just for Fun  J STE SM Index beat the STI Index by just 2 % points and if take into consideration of dividend yield where it has been set higher than STI by around 1.5%, a total return could be around 3.5 %.  I will need to do the portfolio rebalancing in Aug 2017 after 1 year of inception and I think since the market has been very bullish recently, it has become very difficult to find counters which have PE <10 or Div Yield >5% among STI's components . Base on my observation, the total counter should drop to eight only as per current stocks price and market valuation.

MAS Urges Households To Stay Financially Prudent Much been written about “Housing choice vs Retirement comfort “, another types of Cs in our financial planning. Life is full of “choices “, one may choose to “stay single or marry “, to “have kids or be DINKs “, to “climb the corporate ladder or be a freelancer”, to “save more or spend more “, to “save or invest “, to “buy health insurance or take the risk ( bo chap)”……and the list goes on. “In particular, households should consider their housing choices carefully, as retirement adequacy could be compromised should households overstretch their finances to purchase more expensive housing.” Source: “Stay prudent, be cautious with property purchases, MAS tells Singaporeans”

From Swiss Alps to Dubai Desert Safari ( STE Photos sharing )

Noticed that many friends and financial bloggers have been busy updating their portfolio’s performance recently, some are happy with outstanding & flying colours result which out-performed the market and some with lagging achievement. But one needs to take note that measuring performance is only meaningful in the long run and not by just a few quarters or years of investment and also the performance is to judge our ability to pick right stocks, not to compare with others.

Photos Taking vs Investing ( STE Photos sharing )

Image
I like to take photos though I am not a professional photographer but what to do with Photos taking and investing? Is there any similarity between these two? Patient!   Yes, both required patience to have a good or better result. To snap a good photo, one needs to be patient.
